WHO WE ARE

Sara Allen_edited.jpg

Sara Allen

Sixteen is run by award-winning Series Producer / Director, Sara Allen who has worked on productions ranging from Rhod Gilbert’s Work Experience to Gareth Thomas; HIV and Me for BBC1 and more recently, Prue Leith’s Cotswold Kitchen for ITV.

She works on the basis that “if you don’t ask, you don’t get” and with that approach she managed to persuade the stars of Gavin and Stacey to do a Christmas special in 2020 for BBC Radio Wales.  One of her all time favourite television experiences was producing Benjamin Zephaniah, who worked with the residents of Townhill, Swansea to write a version of Under Milk Wood - it’s an experience she’ll never forget.

Although she’s fortunate to have filmed internationally, Sara is the first to say that TV is not all that glamorous - as evidenced in the photo below which shows her helping Prue Leith’s husband John take his wellingtons off!
